The Texas Department of Transportation announced that as part of the ongoing Interstate 10 frontage road construction, the project contractor is progressing into the next stage of construction which will require the demolition of the existing Highway 46 (Bandera Road) bridge.
In order to safely remove the bridge, TxDOT said it will need an approximate 56-hour continuous full mainlane closure of the I-10 eastbound and westbound travel lanes between Highway 46 (Bandera Road) and Highway 87 (Main Street). The removal of this bridge will allow crews to start working on the new westbound Highway 46 bridge structure.
TxDOT stated the work that is scheduled to start on Friday, January 21, at 9 p.m. and is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. on Monday, January 24, weather permitting.
