Tragedy struck a family at home on New Year’s Eve Friday night as 47-yearold Jason Evans allegedly shot and killed his wife, Emily Fulton Evans, while the couple’s six children were inside the home in the 100 block of Ridge Place.

Sgt. Kevin Klaerner, public information officer for the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, said while the incident is still under investigation, deputies are treating the case as a murder-suicide, indicating Evans shot himself after shooting his wife.

According to Boerne Police Department call sheets, deputies received the initial call at 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve from the mother of Fulton Evans, who said she suspected her son-in-law killed her daughter in the family’s garage while their children were in a room in the house. She said Evans had a history of violence against his wife as well as making threats to leave her, the call sheet information stated.
