Most of us have heard – and probably seen – the sirens of the trucks from the Boerne Fire Department as they leave their station on Main Street. BFD is a “hybrid” service, meaning its paid staff/operations are supplemented by the Boerne Volunteer Fire Department, with 15 volunteers currently (per its 2021 annual report). 06/17/2022 12:00 AM

Go grab that egg, a spatula, a little salt and pepper and some Tabasco sauce if preferred. 06/17/2022 12:00 AM

Reflecting on the past, present and future
As I passed my tassel from right to left with the Boerne High School Class of 2022, I felt the breath of the past four years shared with my classmates brush through us with the slight evening wind. It was then that our adolescence ended as quickly as it had brought itself on. Fearfully, I recalled the many who had told me that high school would be the best years of my life, and with hope, I realized they wouldn’t be. 06/14/2022 12:00 AM

Has anyone noticed how hot it is outside? With the current temperatures hitting close to or above 100 degrees almost every day, one would think we’re in the middle of summer, although it doesn’t technically begin until June 21. 06/07/2022 12:00 AM

The government of the people
It was in November of 1863 at a small Pennsylvania town called Gettysburg that President Lincoln delivered a short speech, only 271 words. (This column is three times longer!) 05/27/2022 12:00 AM
