A great day for lemonade in Boerne
Bethany Aguilar sells lemonade from her elaborate stand on the shady side of Main Street on Sunday afternoon for the second year in a row as part of the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce’s annual Lemonade Day. Last year, 50 percent of her proceeds were donated to the Christian Assistant Ministry to help with an annual Christmas drive. This year, Aguilar was donating half her income to Soldiers’ Angels to help purchase paracord bracelets for active-duty military personnel. Dozens of youngsters set up stands along Main Street and elsewhere in and around Boerne to participate and learn some basic business skills. See Page 2 for another picture. Brent Evans, co-founder of the Cibolo Center for Conservation with his wife, Carolyn Chipman Evans, led about 30 attendees through a presentation on how to raise chickens on Saturday at Herff Farm. The seminar included visits to the chicken coop and hatchery on the property, as well as advice on how to communicate with a chicken, using 5-year-old Colton Berry as an example, and how to hold one.
