Charles William Masters, known to friends and family as Charlie, died in his home May 8, 2025, at the age of 77, after a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, whose life was a testament to his faith, love for family and dedication to serving others.

Charlie was born on June 22, 1947, to Frank and Virginia Masters at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Baylor University in 1969, Charlie went on to work at Owens Corning Fiberglass and later at Cardinal Scale in Joplin, Missouri, as the chief financial officer, where he dedicated himself to his career until his retirement in 2012.

Before meeting the love of his life, Joyce Marshall, in 2007, Charlie had four children from previous marriages: Jamey, Melanie, Lindsay and Michael. Joyce and Charlie married in 2008, and his family expanded with the addition of Joyce’s children, Michele and Allen.

A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held at 3 p.m. May 18 at First United Methodist Church of Boerne, 205 James St., in Boerne.
