Ray Faris, 91, of Boerne, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was born, Sept. 28, 1935, in Boerne, Texas, to B.J. Faris and Geneva Faris, the first of their eight children; Ray, June, Jo, Carol, Tommy, and Russell. A sixth-generation Texan, Ray began working in highway construction at 16 and spent more than 70 years in the Texas industry, building companies including P.S. & F. and Affiliated Aggregates before starting his namesake company, Ray Faris, Inc., from the ground up with his partner, best friend, and wife, Ingrid. Over those seven decades he worked alongside and earned the respect of nearly every name in Texas highway construction.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ingrid Barth Faris; his daughter, Dawn Faris Nero; his son, Warren Ray Faris II and wife Andrea; his grandchildren, Dustin Zayne McLendon, Alexander Michael Nero IV, Colton Roy Ramirez, Alyssa Marie Faris, Warren Ray Faris III, Jack William Faris, and Anna Laurel Faris, and great-grandchildren Cash Wa l k e r McLendon, Aalyvia Kate Nero, and Sawyer Faris Alexander McLendon; and his siblings, Vivian Jo Faris Germany, Carol Faris, and Tommy Faris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, B.J. and Geneva Faris; his daughter, Beverly Rae Faris; and his siblings, June and Russell.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Ebensberger- Fisher Funeral Home, 1265 N. Main St., Boerne, Texas, with burial following at Mission Park Funeral Chaples and Cemetery Dominion.
