Incumbents file for Boerne, Fair Oaks city posts

Incumbents lead the way thus far in filing for Boerne and Fair Oaks Ranch city elections. The candidates who have filed have yet to draw any opposition.

In Boerne, Mayor Frank Ritchie and District 4 Councilman Bret Bunker turned in their election packets. Ritchie is seeking re-election to the mayoral seat he first won in 2023.

Bunker is running his first campaign, seeking to hold the seat he has occupied for the past 16 months. The Boerne ISD social studies coordinator was appointed to fill a vacancy when previous District 4 Councilman Bryce Boddie moved from the city in September 2023.

District 2 City Councilwoman Sharon Wright told the Boerne Star she intends to run for re-election to her seat but has yet to turn in her paperwork, as of noon Friday.

None of the three incumbents has drawn a challenger.

The same holds true in Fair Oaks Ranch, where three candidates, including two incumbents, have filed for election in three council seats..

Place 4 Councilwoman Laura Koerner has termed out and cannot run for re-election. Fair Oaks Ranch resident Dale Pearson is the lone candidate to have filed for Place 4 at this time.

Place 5 Councilman Scott Parker has filed for re-election. He has drawn no opposition for the seat as of noon Monday.

Councilman Ruben Olvera is running for election to the Place 3 seat he currently serves. Olvera won an election in December 2023 to replace former Councilwoman Michelle Bliss, who left council for personal reasons and subsequently moved from the city.

Feb. 14 is the final day for potential candidates to file in all races.
