Feb. 17, 1931 — April 29, 2025
Ethelee Noah Alexander McClure was a beloved grandmother, mother and wife during her incredible 94 years of life. She died peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
We will remember Ethelee for her loving nature, her playfulness, and her occasional, endearing stubbornness. We couldn’t spend a minute with her without her telling us how much she loved us and how proud she was to be our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ethelee had a long and full life. She was born on Feb. 17, 1931, in Boerne, Texas, to John and Ella Noah. Her family lived on a ranch in Kendall County, Texas. For grades 1-6, Ethelee attended a little country school called the Upper Cibolo Creek School.
She graduated from Boerne High School in 1948. After attending business school, she moved to San Antonio where she met her first husband, Charles Alexander. They were married in 1949 and together had two daughters, Donna Alexander Dudley and Becky Jo Alexander.
They had a wonderful life together until his death in 1972. Ethelee was remarried to Jay McClure and happily became a bonus mom to Sandra Flippin, Mindy Dodd and Rusty McClure.
Ethelee loved camping, water-skiing, traveling, genealogy research, cooking and sewing. She had 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. They were the loves of her life and brought her great joy.
Ethelee also had her precious pup, Twiggy, who was by her side when she died.
Ethelee is survived by three daughters, Becky Alexander, Sandra (Lonnie) Flippen and Mindy (Gordon) Dodd; one son, Rusty (Gigi) McClure; Grandchildren, Travis (Katlyn) Decker, Dustin (Alejandra Gonzalez) Decker, T.J. (Monica Perez) Dudley, Julia (Rick) Snyder, Amy Oldham, Brian Oldham, Jody (Lynne) Flippen, Michael (Sarah) Oldham, Stephanie Lacour, Jason Grohman and Devin McClure.
