• BOERNE ART WADDLE presents the Hill Country Art and Wine Fest at Main Plaza on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 60-plus artists showcasing their works for sale. Food booths, kids’ games on site. www. boerneartwaddle.com

MAY 24

• BLUEGRASS JAM: Bring your instrument and play along or just come to listen to the Bluegrass Jams from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. while exploring the exhibits and grounds of The Agri-Cultural, 102 City Park Road. The event is free to the public.

• KUHLMANN-KING TOURS from noon-3 p.m. at the historic home at 402 E. Blanco Road. Step back in time to experience and explore how a Boerne family would have lived in the late 1800s. Tours are free but any donations are always welcome.

MAY 25

• MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT by the Boerne Concert Band starts at 7 p.m. at Main Plaza. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy patriotic selections in honor of our Armed Forces. In case of rain, the concert will be in the BHS Auditorium. Details: www.boerneconcertband.com.

• MEMORIAL DAY REMEMBRANCE ceremony hosted by the American Legion CMTV Post 313 is set for 10-10:30 a.m. at Veterans Plaza, 801 N. Main St. in Boerne.

• MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY hosted by VFW Post 688 at 11 a.m. at Boerne Cemetery, 700 N. School St. in Boerne. The VFW will honor those who gave their lives in service to the country. Guest speaker and 21-gun salute are planned.

• DRUG FREE COMFORT presents “Plugged In: Powering Up Your Mental Resilience” beginning at 6 p.m. at The Lobby Coffee Shop, 523 7th St. The presentation will educate on tools for mental strength and wellbeing and support networks to help those in need.

• SUMMER READ ALOUD at The Boerne Bookshop, 153 S. Main St., beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Boerne Bookshop invites young readers and their families to enjoy a magical season of classic tales and enchanting adventures every other Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

MAY 31

• OPEN CAR SHOW: Come by the Historic Welfare School, 217 Waring Welfare Road, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to see antique vehicles, tractors and more. All process go to restoration of the schoolhouse. Registration is $10. Email: welfareschoolhouse@ gmail.com.

• TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISION marker dedication by the Kendall County Historical Commission: Hosted at the PHPL Public Library at 10 a.m., before relocation to the Potter family homestead area.
