The George W. Kendall Chapter of National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honored four Kendall County area high school seniors as DAR Good Citizens during its spring chapter meeting.
The four Good Citizens received scholarships from the DAR chapter:
• Boerne High School’s Good Citizen Hailey Grace Muir received the first-place scholarship, which includes the GWK Community Service Award in the amount of $1,500.
• Comfort High School’s Good Citizen Paulina Nicole Dorado received a scholarship in the amount of $1,250.
• Samuel V. Champion High School’s Good Citizen Noah Craig Hernandez received a scholarship in the amount of $ 1,250.
• Geneva High School’s Good Citizen Ella Elizabeth Dillinger received a scholarship in the amount of $ 1,250.
DAR Good Citizens Awards are given to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. This award recognizes and rewards high school seniors who possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities.
These students are selected because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree and are named DAR Good Citizens. Each award winner receives a certificate, pin and wallet identification card.
The Daughters of the American Revolution is a service organization with genealogically based membership. Its mission is patriotism, education and historic preservation.
