BOERNE — The Kendall County Commissioners Court on Tuesday officially proclaimed June 13–15, 2025, as “Das Festival Weekend,” honoring the region’s deep German roots and the many cultures that make Kendall County a special place to call home.

In a ceremony at Commissioners Court, Judge Shane Stolarczyk presented the proclamation alongside festival organizers, volunteers and community leaders.

Festival organizers said the declaration marks a moment of pride for Kendall County, putting a spotlight on the county’s ongoing commitment to celebrating heritage, family, and togetherness.

“Das Festival of Kendall isn’t just another summer event,” said Dave Parent, Das Festival president. “It’s a living tribute to our ancestors, our families, and the generations who built this community from the ground up. The Commissioners Court’s support means the world to everyone involved.”

Das Festival Weekend will fill Boerne’s Main Plaza and streets with music, food, a colorful parade and activities for all ages. The three-day event welcomes locals and visitors alike to join in the festivities, don their lederhosen and dirndls, and experience a true taste of Kendall County hospitality.

The Commissioners Court proclamation encourages all residents and area businesses to join the celebration and share in the legacy that makes Kendall County unique.

Das Festival is a 501(c)3 nonprofit honoring Kendall County’s German heritage while celebrating all the diverse histories and traditions of the Texas Hill Country. Proceeds benefit local charities and nonprofit organizations across the county.
