Tim Millage has stepped down as Geneva School of Boerne’s head softball coach.

Millage leaves after three years where he tallied 29 wins and led the Eagles to three straight regional championship games and were one win away from playing at the TAPPS state tournament the last three seasons.

Three years ago, Millage met with then Athletic Director Eric Boerboom, and that’s where it started.

“Three years ago, I had a meeting with Eric to volunteer coach at the middle school level,” he said. “I left that meeting as the head varsity softball coach.”

While he said it has been a blast, Millage also noted that it’s time for him to move on.

“I loved coaching at Geneva,” he said. “However, it was time to devote more time to my family in my retirement years.”

When he was coaching and the softball season was done, Millage spent his summers working with ground crews at various baseball stadiums around the country.

Last year, he worked at Wrigley Field for the Chicago Cubs, and before that spent six years working with the San Antonio Missions.

Millage also worked with the St. Louis Cardinals ground crew during their 2022 spring training camp and is currently working for the Louisville Bats and will be there through the end of this year’s AAA season.

Millage said he has been working and maintaining baseball fields since he was 12 years old.
