THE BOOKWORM
We are excited to host two new organizations at the Boerne Book Festival on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The first is the international organization Les Dames d’Escoffier. Abby Kurth, Denise Mazal Resnerova and Diana Barrios Treviño are members of the San Antonio chapter of this organization and will be on hand talking about their cookbooks.
Naylene Dillingham is another long-time member of the organization. She grew up in Boerne and will be moderating the discussion, which begins at 9:30 a.m.
We’ll be serving wonderful kolaches made by Denise Mazal Resnerova for a suggested donation of $10 at the door, which will go directly to the scholarship program for Les Dames d’Escoffier.
There will be a limit of 100 people allowed into this first discussion to kick off this year’s Boerne Book Festival in the community room at the library.
The second organization new to the festival is the Texas Folklore Society. They will be featured on a panel discussion at 1:30 p.m. in the community room.
Jo Virgil is the current president of the organization and will moderate the panel. The two featured authors on this panel are Norma Elia Cantú and Donna Christopher Ingham.
The Texas Folklore Society has published many books including Cantu’s latest, “Fiestas in Laredo.” Please stop by to meet these fine folks on Oct. 4 and listen to their discussion.
