Luckey enter races for county judge

E d i t o r ’s note: The Star will publish candidates’ announcements for 2026 races as they become available.

Mike Luckey has announced his candidacy for Kendall County Commissioners Court judge.

Luckey, a Republican and GOP chair for Precinct 4090, has lived in Kendall County 32 years and spent 18 of those “working alongside local leaders, supporting candidates and standing up for the values that make Kendall County such a special place to live,” according to his campaign announcement.

“I see the county judge as a servant to the people,” he said. “This office should always work for the citizens of Kendall County, not rule over them.” The elected office is not a judicial position but the top administrator over county operations.

LUCKEY

Luckey said he believes the role of the county judge is about service, not power.

According to his campaign literature, his priorities include protecting property rights, defending constitutional freedoms, keeping taxes low and making sure county offices such as the Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office have the tools “they need to keep our community safe.”

The candidate said he has proven his dedication to protecting the community, preserving freedoms, supporting local officials and “standing up for neighbors facing personal challenges” before Commissioners Court.

Party primaries are set for March 3, runoffs are May 26 and Nov. 3, 2026, is the uniform election.
