Constance Keremes came to us more than 20 years ago, first as a youth services assistant before becoming the children’s librarian.
She is now offering storytimes to the children of the youngsters she entertained back in the early 2000s. Miss Constance has become a beloved local figure who has kindly encouraged thousands of Hill Country children to fall in love with reading. What an impact.
We are celebrating her time with us by hosting an open house from 9-11 a.m. on Monday, April 13. Please make plans to stop by that day and wish her well.
No more tax appointments
AARP Tax Aide Foundation is totally booked; all available appointments through April 15 are taken.
We know this will be frustrating for many of you, but this free program is totally run by volunteers, and there are only so many hours in a day.
The good news is that there are other locations, primarily in the San Antonio area. Just visit our website and click on the “Tax Help” graphic toward the bottom. From there, you can search other AARP Tax Aide locations.
‘Live! at the Library’ on hiatus The amphitheater, located by the library, needs to undergo some technology updates, which means our monthly concerts are temporarily on hold. We do hope that we will be back in business as soon as possible, so please stay tuned for updates.
Summer excitement around the corner
Our programming elves are furiously working to develop amazing sessions for our Summer Learning Odyssey in June and July.
Our theme this year is “Unearth a Story,” which can mean many things, but we’ll give you a hint: dinosaurs will be lurking.
You can find out more by accessing our web calendar at boernelibrary.org.
Another new desk?
As many of our visitors are fully aware, we have a new circulation desk in the lobby. We were so inspired by its beauty and functionality we decided to update our second-floor desk as well.

We are in the very early stages of planning, but we are excited to improve staff and patrons’ experience on the second floor.
Did you know ...
The library offers remote printing for folks who would like to print from their own devices.
From the comfort of your own home or business, you can just type in ‘print.princh.com’ and type in the code: 108886.
You will upload your documents and then enter your email. When you come to the library you just access your documents and pay 25 cents for each black and white copy and one dollar for each color page.
If you’re unsure about how to do this, please don’t hesitate to call us or stop by.
