The special occasion that is America250 is only one month away. With starsand- stripes lighting lining Main Street and Americana décor displayed at City Hall, Main Plaza, and Veterans Plaza, the patriotic spirit is hard to miss.
The city’s red, white, and blue-themed decorations will remain up until the end of September.

Library America250 Display
Throughout June, the Patrick Heath Public Library (451 N. Main St.) will feature a special America250 display highlighting books about U.S. presidents, influential political leaders and other figures who helped shape the nation’s history.
The display encourages exploration and lifelong learning by drawing attention to materials patrons may not otherwise discover. The library aims to help visitors learn more about the people, events, and ideas that have influenced the United States over the past 250 years.
Texas America250 Traveling Exhibit
Throughout July, the Patrick Heath Public Library will host a special exhibit produced by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
The Texas America250 traveling exhibit highlights historically significant Texas treasures from the State Archives and explores the important role Texas has played in shaping the United States, from Spanish missions to the space race.
Following its display at the library in July, the exhibit will move to City Hall in August.
First Saturday and Independence Day Fireworks | July 4
Downtown businesses will continue their popular First Saturday celebrations July 4 in partnership with the Boerne Retail and Restaurant Owners Association.
From 5 to 8 p.m., shops, restaurants, and boutiques along Main Street will stay open late with specials, promotions, live music, food, drinks, and more. Residents and visitors can enjoy shopping, dining, and entertainment throughout the Hill Country Mile while celebrating the holiday weekend together.
The evening will conclude with the City’s annual Fourth of July fireworks show at City Park. This year’s show will once again be synchronized to music and will begin approximately 30 minutes after sunset, around 9 p.m.
The fireworks display is free and open to the public, with prime viewing available at the Kendall County Fairgrounds and Champion High School. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy one of the area’s favorite Independence Day traditions.
Boerne Concert Band at Veterans Plaza | July 5
The Boerne Concert Band will perform at Veterans Plaza at 7 p.m. on July 5 and will include a special mayoral proclamation honoring America250.
The nonprofit organization provides local musicians an opportunity to perform popular music for family-oriented audiences throughout the community. The July concert will feature a festive lineup of classic American favorites.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of live music at Veterans Plaza.
Family Tie Dye Days | July 7-9 Join Boerne Parks and Recreation for the next Family Tie Dye Event featuring this year’s theme: Red, White, and Boerne.
Tie dye sessions will take place July 7-9 with multiple time slots available. For a $5 registration fee, the Parks and Recreation Department will provide all dyeing supplies. Participants are asked to bring their own pre-washed white garment, with basic T-shirts encouraged.
