CELEBRATING THE ARTS

So, after you have spent the day with family and friends having good old-fashioned fun at Das Festival on June 20, bring your tired but satisfied selves to The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road, Boerne; and enjoy HCCA Cinema at their screening of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”

You are encouraged to bring your blankets, lawn chairs and, of course, your coconuts. Members of the committee issued the following invitation to our community:

“Hear ye, hear ye!. Join us for a most noble evening beneath the stars as we present, ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’ for our June outdoor movie night. Dust off your royal garb, gather your loyal subjects, and bring thou lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and perhaps even a pair of coconuts. Whether thou art a brave knight, a wise wizard, or merely a lover of absurd comedy, all are welcome to partake in the festivities. Admission is free but donations are always welcome. Merriment is highly encouraged.”

And, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

• Boerne Concert Band invites the community to a very special concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at Veterans Plaza, 801 S. Main St., to celebrate our country’s 250th year of independence. Enjoy the specially chosen music for this grand occasion beneath the flowering red crepe myrtles.

The Boerne Concert Band is to present a 250th Independence Day celebration. Bring your family, friends, blankets and lawn chairs, on Sunday, July 5, 7:00 pm, and help us celebrate our country’s 250th birthday at this FREE community concert.

Enjoy fun marches, patriotic and jazz selections, as Boerne Concert Band also features a local musician, Evan Jose. This will be a concert to remember so mark your calendars.

In case of rain, the concert will be held at Boerne High School Auditorium. For more information, find the band on Facebook @ BoerneConcertBand, or the website at www.boerneconcertband.
