It’s hard to believe we are here again, but we are and our friends and neighbors throughout the Hill Country need our help.
During times of crisis, Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries serves as a central hub, uniting and equipping God’s people with not only resources but the opportunity to experience the love of Christ in a very difficult time.
HCDBM is currently supplying critical equipment, food, clothing, hygiene products and so much more while deploying volunteer teams through established partner organizations to serve affected areas in the name of Christ. The ministry is also providing case management and referrals while helping families who are displaced with appropriate supplies while in transition.
We need you. It’s all hands on deck. Lack of media attention has drastically affected the amount of resources that have come into the region. If we don’t step up, families may never recover from this disaster.
This flood was different; it affected a wider geographical area than last year’s flood. Many who are affected do not have insurance to restore their homes because the areas that were flooded have not been at risk of flooding in the past. Its hard for the gravity of this event to reach us when our lives are back to normal, but there are hundreds and hundreds of displaced families. Each heartbreaking story is unique.
Stories like Gloria’s, who walked in two days ago.

residence will all need require removal and replacement.
Through tears, Gloria shared it was her birthday and that she is scheduled to undergo a biopsy to determine whether she has stomach cancer.
She reported that this follows a double mastectomy she underwent last year, adding to the significant physical and emotional challenges she is currently facing.
Gloria and her family of six are currently staying with a friend, temporarily. However, this arrangement is only expected to last a few more days. The family has been referred for temporary housing and Gloria’s family home was referred to one of the teams in the field to assess.
As we were loading her vehicle with food, clothing, hygiene supplies, household items and more, Gloria threw her arms around her case manager, Sandy, and began to cry, stating that she was so overwhelmed and she cannot cry in front of her children.
Sandy held her tight and let her know she can cry on her shoulder any time she needs to. They prayed together.
Gloria is now registered for on going support as she and her family navigate the difficult road ahead.
