Charger volleyball won’t play at home until Aug. 25 because of work being done on gym floor
One fall sport started playing this week, while another will begin action this coming week.
Team tennis kicked off this week, and both the Chargers and Greyhounds were in action, while volleyball hits the court this upcoming week.
Team Tennis
Champion opened the 2026 season Wednesday against Clark and then played Friendswood on Friday and Lake Travis on Saturday and hosted all three matches.
After that, the Chargers are at the NISD tourney Aug. 14-15 before opening district play on Aug. 20 against John Jay.
Boerne High opens their season with a doubleheader on Saturday at the Greyhound courts. BHS plays Friendswood Saturday morning and then takes on Lake Travis later that day at 2 p.m.
The Hounds are entered in the Hill Country Team Tennis Championships, Aug. 14-15, hosted by Fredericksburg and Kerrville.
BHS opens district play on Aug. 18 against Harlandale.
Volleyball
Champion opens the regular season Monday in Kerrville, 6:30 p.m., and visits Pieper on Tuesday before playing in the Abilene Tournament, Aug. 14-15.
Champion’s first home match won’t be until Aug. 25 because of work being done on the gym floor. They’ll host Clark that evening for Middle School Night.
Boerne High hosts Stevens on Tuesday at Greyhound Gym at 6:30 p.m. and then plays in the NEISD/NISD tourney next weekend, Aug. 13-15.
Comfort High visits the San Antonio Saints on Tuesday and then plays in the Wimberley tourney, Aug. 14-15. They host Center Point/Bandera on Tuesday, Aug. 18 for their home opener.
Geneva School of Boerne welcomes St. Mary’s Hall Tuesday, 6 p.m., in its regular- season opener and then is scheduled to play in the Wimberley tourney next weekend.
All the area teams spent this weekend scrimmaging. The Chargers and Hounds were on the road Friday and will host scrimmages this Saturday.
Comfort hosted a scrimmage on Friday that Geneva took part in, and both were in action Saturday for their final scrimmages. Comfort visits Wimberley and Geneva was at TMI – Episcopal on Saturday.
