WACO - The Boerne Little League team, or Texas West, just won the Southwest Region Tournament by defeating Louisiana, 4-1, Monday in Waco.
Boerne advances to the Little League World Series for the second time in three years after the 2024 team also made it and finished second in the nation and fourth internationally.
Boerne and Louisiana were scheduled to play Monday in the semifinals game and the winner was going to play Oklahoma on Tuesday but the Oklahoma team was disqualified for using an ineligible player. That left the winner of Monday's game as the SW Region champ.
Boerne had a fast start on Monday and scored all four runs in the first inning off five hits.
Louisiana loaded the bases twice in the game but Boerne's defense held and took a shutout in the top of the sixth. Louisiana had two runners on and a double brought in one run but the other runner tried to score from first and was tagged out at the plate to stem the rally. Louisiana never threatened after that and Boerne closed it out from there to punch their ticket to Williamsport.

Oklahoma has been disqualified from the Southwest Region Tournament in Waco, which means Texas West or Boerne will play Louisiana and the winner advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Monday's game is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN.

Boerne Little League or Texas West, defeated Texas East Sunday in an elimination game, 3-2, at the Southwest Region tourney in Waco.
Boerne or Texas West advances to face Louisiana Monday, 2 p.m.
Saturday's game
Texas West (Boerne) 10, Mississippi 0
The Boerne Little League team or Texas West champs, bounced back in a big way Sat. after their opening-round loss at the Southwest Region Tournament.
Boerne beat Mississippi 10-0 behind 14 hits.
Boerne still has to win Sunday and Monday in order to make it to the championship game on Tuesday. The winner of Tuesday's title tilt advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
