The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting Wednesday for the Kendall County Women’s Shelter, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse and their families as they work toward safety, healing, and independence. Based in Boerne, KCWS provides comprehensive, confidential services including emergency shelter, crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, case management, legal advocacy, support groups, and resources for survivors and their children. KCWS also provides shelter and support for survivors’ pets and works to raise awareness about domestic abuse through community education and outreach. Their team is committed to helping survivors heal from the trauma of domestic abuse and build a safer, brighter future. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, KCWS’s 24-hour hotline is available at 800-495-8078. Services are free and confidential. -- Kendall County Women’s Shelter 930 N.
