In her first competition of any kind, Eleri Tarrant surprised even herself Sept. 2 when she was named the 2026 Kendall County Fair Queen.

The final call came down to Tarrant and Courtney Curry, who were gathered on center stage in the Kendall Count Fair pavilion.

When the 2026 County Fair Princess title was called for Curry, Tarrant became the queen, and the two embraced at the announcement.

“I was so nervous, but I’m so grateful for this opportunity,” Tarrant said just minutes after receiving her crown, sash and flowers. “I’m so grateful that the judges saw something in me that, I’m going to be honest, I didn’t see in myself.”

A sophomore at Boerne Champion High School, Tarrant is involved in theater, the floral design courses, and is the Champion Charms dance and drill team manager.

She is also a member of Future Farmers of America.

“I love theater, it’s one of my most favorite things to do,” Tarrant said.

She said she owes the decision to run for a spot on the fair court to her family, which promised and delivered their support during the campaign.

“They always have my back, no matter what,” the queen said. “I’m so excited for this coming year and I’m so excited to serve my community with everything.” In addition to Tarrant and Curry, rounding out the County Fair Queen’s Court are Duchess Trinitee Smith, Junior Miss Paisley Arreola and Little Miss Presley Arreola.

2025 Fair Queen Makenna Jureczki ended her reign last Thursday by placing the crown on Tarrant’s head.

Jureczki became the first Kendall County Fair queen ever to have also been a princess, junior miss and little miss.
