Geneva’s best baseball season in program history came to a heartbreaking end after the Eagles were defeated in the TAPPS DIII state semifinals Monday night in Arlington by Cypress Christian on the final play of the game.

With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh, the Warriors scored the game-winning run in walkoff fashion to record the 6-5 victory.

Geneva finishes its season at 28-4, and if there’s any consolation for the Eagles, they did fall to the eventual state champions Warriors team that went on to win the title the next day.
