After only losing one game in the first two and a half months of the season, the Boerne Champion boys basketball team dropped two games last week.

The Chargers were edged by Wagner on Tuesday and then hosted Veterans Memorial on Friday where the Patriots handed Champion its second straight setback, 55-38.

Champion slips to 5- 2 in 26- 5A to close out the first round. The Chargers, 23-3 overall, kicked off the second round Tuesday against New Braunfels Canyon before visiting Kerrville Tivy on Friday.
