As I sit here in my office at my computer, it’s sometimes difficult to fathom I’ve been pounding the keys of a typewriter or keyboard professionally for about 39 years.

No doubt you’ve seen the flocks of campaign signs around town – a sure sign that an election is imminent. Both the Democratic and Republican parties will hold primary elections on Tuesday, March 1. Early voting runs from February 14-25.

It was quite the scene and atmosphere last Saturday morning at The Bevy here in Boerne, if I say so myself.

One issue that differentiates Republicans and Democrats as we enter the midterm election season is crime. Today, we will analyze the different approaches of the two parties toward crime and its impact on our citizens.

People, at least most of us, are a worrisome bunch by nature. We often get concerned about common things as well as things specific to our individual lives.
