December ramblings in the night sky
December ramblings in the night sky
I have a lot of things to discuss this month, so let’s dive right into it. Since Christmas is right around the corner, I get inquiries about this time for the best telescope for the budding Astrophysicist in your family. 12/04/2022 12:00 AM

Think about the last time you walked around outside even if it was just to or from your vehicle. You probably saw trash on the ground or blowing around. Did you stop and pick it up? 12/04/2022 12:00 AM

Help The Center ensure older adults don’t get left behind this holiday season
From an active retiree looking to fill their newfound leisure time through supporting a homebound neighbor relying on a daily wellness check and delivery of a hot meal, The Center (formerly Rainbow Senior Center at Kronkosky Place) promotes opportunities to live longer and healthier lives. As we approach the end of 2022, we need your support to ensure we feed every older adult in need this holiday season. The Center has a vast reach with a personal impact on the daily lives of older adults through services and programs designed specifically to connect older adults to vital resources. 12/04/2022 12:00 AM

I cannot believe my favorite time of the year is already here, “CHRISTMAS.” Please take a minute to close your eyes and picture the perfect Christmas. Some may imagine the smell of fresh-baked goods filling the house, the tree glistening with perfectly hung lights, and a fire crackling as the kids play with new toys. Of course, all children deserve to smile on Christmas day. However, Christmas is the one time during the year when the focus is on giving, emphasizing the excitement in the child’s eye as they unwrap a present specially chosen just for them. 12/04/2022 12:00 AM

People with synesthesia experience world with multiple senses

But when he got older, he started saying that he 'hears' the colors. We have been told this is called synesthesia. How and why does it happen? 11/30/2022 12:00 AM

The gift of reading
The gift of reading
I’ve been reading books with a theme, once again. For the last several months I devoured any books I could get my hands on about libraries or bookshops. Then I discovered a sub-genre, if you will, among these. I was drawn to books that explored the idea of “the gift of reading.” I found this in both fiction and non-fiction titles. 11/27/2022 12:00 AM
