City of Boerne wins PSA award
The city of Boerne received a 2022 Award of Honor at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers Conference in Houston in June. Of the 11 categories, Boerne was recognized for Public Service Announcement, population under 100,000 people. 07/08/2022 12:00 AM

Summer camp
Boy Scout Troop 102, sponsored by First United Methodist Church, just returned from summer camp at Camp Constantin located on Possum Kingdom Lake, west of Mineral Wells. Some 700 Scouts from all over Texas were in attendance for the week-long camp, including 27 Scouts and nine adults from Boerne’s Troop 102. Scouts worked on merit badges in kayaking, small boat sailing, motor boating, archery, geocaching, shotgun shooting, welding and more. Submitted photo 07/08/2022 12:00 AM

Three arrested in deaths of 53 migrants
Three people were arrested last week by federal authorities in connection with a human smuggling incident that left 53 migrants dead. The migrants were discovered inside a tractor-trailer on San Antonio’s Southwest Side, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
