More than 1,000 guests attended a Feb. 28 fundraiser to help Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries fight food insecurity in eight Hill Country counties, officials said.
The annual Vision Dinner is the ministry’s primary fundraiser, aiding programs that battle poverty and provide food, resources, mentoring and “spiritual encouragement” to families in need, according to organizers.
Co-founder and Executive Director Agnes Hubbard encouraged guests to give with the question, “What would Jesus do?”
She said the sentiment is inspired by pastor and author Charles Sheldon, challenging attendees to live out their faith through compassion and service to others.
The evening featured testimonies from speakers who shared stories of struggle, renewed faith and personal transformation aided by ministry programs.
In 2025, Hill Country Daily Bread served more than 180,000 individuals affected by natural disasters and ongoing economic hardship.
“A year like 2025 placed significant strain on resources,” Hubbard said. “Yet our community responded faithfully, saying, ‘Here I am, Lord, send me.’” The nonprofit is located at 38 Cascade Caverns Road.
