•April 14: Polymer clay canes (part I). Explore additional skills in polymer clay.
If you took our previous polymer clay class or if you just want to try your hand at a new medium, this class is for you. We will be making canes such as bullseye, graduated, floral, etc.
These colorful coils are the basis for more complex designs like kaleidoscopes, flowers and mosaics. Canes are formed with multiple colors, adding metallics and foils for emphasis.
The class is designed in two parts; take one or both. We will combine the canes in the next class to create a slab or a tile. Use the tile as it is, or form a slab that can be used for jewelry pieces and embellishments.
•April 21: Polymer clay tiles (part 2). To continue with our canes, we begin slicing and combining pieces to create a slab or a tile. We will investigate texture with cutters, stamps and stencils, to build a collection of shapes into a finished piece. Discover the ways to use your slab in other creations such as earrings, beads an mixed media elements.
