Chandler ties for first in pole vault at Texas Relays

Geneva School of Boerne senior Brady Chandler finished in a three-way tie for gold in the pole vault competition last weekend at the Texas Relays in Austin.

Chandler, a senior, and two other competitors, senior Boone Hodges of Omaha Pewitt and sophomore Evan Jitjaeng of Big Sandy, all cleared 16-00.50 to tie for first.

The Texas Relays is the second largest track and field meet in the United States and held over a three-day period annually in Austin and features high school, college and professional athletes. The event is offered to elite track and field athletes, and participants must qualify for the individual events.
