Vehicle swept away in Bandera floodwaters Monday

Emergency crews were searching Monday for occupants of a vehicle that was swept away by fast-moving floodwaters following flash flooding in Bandera County.

According to the Bandera County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred Monday morning in the area of Lower Mason Creek Road and Chipman Lane.

Multiple Bandera County emergency agencies responded to the scene and were conducting search operations. Personnel from the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department assisted in the response, and a helicopter from the Texas Department of Public Safety was aiding search efforts.

Authorities had not released information on the number of occupants involved or their condition as of Monday.

The sheriff's office urged residents to avoid the area and not attempt to assist with search operations, citing safety concerns for both the public and emergency responders.

Officials said it is critical that first responders have unobstructed access to the area as search efforts continue.

The search remained ongoing Monday morning. Further information was not immediately available.
