The Comfort Deer hosted Hondo last week before taking part in the Johnson City Tournament last weekend.
Against the Lady Owls, the Deer were able to win the match in four sets. Comfort won the first set, 25-16, and dropped the second set, 25-16, before winning the last two games that were close.
Comfort captured Game 3, 25-23, and closed it out in Game 4, 27-25, to avoid a fifth set. The Deer were 10-11 overall after the Hondo match.
They hosted Sonora on Tuesday and will visit Leakey on Friday.
At the Johnson City tourney, Comfort dropped its first three matches in pool play against tough competition. They fell to Fredericksburg, Poth and Del Rio, but took all three teams to three sets.
The Deer went three sets with the Billies before falling, 25-12, 14-25, 25-21. They also went three sets with Poth before the Lady Pirates sailed away with the win. Poth won, 24-26, 25-23, 25-13.
Against Del Rio, Comfort again won the first set, 27-25, but dropped the next two, 25-15, 25-12.
