Neal McCoy headlines The Center benefit concert Saturday

Country music’s Neal McCoy will headline “Starry Night Beneath the Hill Country Sky.” the annual benefit concert for The Center, Saturday at Estancia at Thunder Valley.
Doors open at 6 p.m. The program begins at 7:30 p.m., and McCoy takes the stage at 8:50 p.m.

Beneath the Hill Country Sky is now The Center's largest annual fundraiser. This is not a public concert; guests attend as sponsors and the tables they invite.

“Last year we traded the gala for a night under the stars, and this community showed up,” said Olivia Burdick, CEO of The Center. “What that night made possible was meals, wellness classes and the quiet daily work of making sure older neighbors in Kendall County are not left on their own. Every dollar raised that night stayed right here in Kendall County.”

Dinner from Don Strange Catering opens the night, followed by a live auction and a private performance under the Hill Country sky. The concert returns for its second year after drawing 400 guests and raising more than $170,000 last November.

McCoy is a Texas native with five No. 1 hits across three charts, millions of records sold and a career spanning more than three decades. His chart-toppers include “No Doubt About It” and “Wink.”

He is a member of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, a 2026 inductee into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Offstage, he has made numerous USO tours for military service members and works with the East Texas Angel Network. San Antonio jazz vocalist Faith Evangeline and the Dirty River Jazz Band open the evening.

Proceeds from the concert support The Center's work including Meals on Wheels, daily lunches and wellness and social programming at The Center, the medical equipment loan closet and resource navigation for families.

The Center is the only Meals on Wheels provider in Kendall County. Last year it delivered more than 58,000 meals, each paired with a wellness check and a few minutes of conversation at the door.

“I have done business in this community for a long time, and I have watched The Center become the place people turn to when aging gets hard,” said Bill Bird, board chairman of The Center. “Standing as presenting sponsor is not charity. It is an investment in the county we live in.”

The event is chaired by Center board Member Patti Nelson of Patti Nelson Luxury Realty.

Sponsorships for the event range from $2,500 to $30,000, and a limited number of individual tickets are available.
