Chargers, Greyhounds both drop Game 1s in their series

SAN ANTONIO – Both the Boerne ISD varsity baseball teams dropped Game 1 in their best-ofthree series that started Thursday night.

The Greyhounds hosted Sinton at Wolff Stadium in San Antonio and fell to the Pirates, 3-2.

Sinton was up 1-0 but Boerne scored 2 runs in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead, however the Pirates had the final momentum swing as they rallied for 2 runs in the top of the seventh to claim the 3-2 victory.

Champion

Champion tangled with Leander Rouse in Austin on Thursday for Game 1 of their series. Rouse had a good start and scored 6 runs in the second to take control.

The Chargers answered with 3 in the top of the third but the Leander school fired back with 3 in the bottom half of the inning for the 9-3 advantage, which held until the end.
