Boerne Community Theatre is excited about its extended season now under way.
Moving to the calendar- year season is a big step, so we added a few shows to the 2022-23 season while we plan for our annual fundraiser, “The Hill Country’s Got Talent.”
Finalists have been selected and will be announced very soon on our website. Judges have all been confirmed; they include Stephen Rogers, local attorney and musician; District Judge Kirsten Cohoon; Jack Morgan, Arts and Culture reporter for Texas Public Radio; and Philip Chancellor, emcee and mentalist who has performed several shows at BCT.
The event is Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Kendall County Fairgrounds. This is an opportunity to support local talent and cheer for the winners of cash prizes.
Smoke In the Hills Barbecue will be served and silent and live auctions are being planned. The talent show is the entertainment. This is a fun, family-friendly event.
Sponsorships and tickets are available on the website at: www.boernetheatre.org under the “Hill Country’s Got Talent” tab.
A highlight of the evening will be the announcement of the 2024 season titles. Brochures for that season will be available to purchase memberships.
In other news, casting is underway for “Dracula Bites,” a comedy by Duke Ernsberger and V. Cate. BCT has produced two other titles by this writing team, “Elvis Has Left the Building” and “Don’t Cry For Me, Margaret Mitchell.”
This show will run Oct. 29-Nov. 12, and BCT board President Jerry Watson will direct. This should be a fun outing over the Halloween weekend.
This mostly volunteer organization is coming up on its 33rd year of offering quality live theatre to the Hill Country. Whether it’s onstage, backstage, or in the audience, all are welcome at Boerne Community Theatre.
