Two reappointed to state licensing board

AUSTIN – Gov. Greg Abbott has reappointed Ray Callas, M.D., and Gary F. Wesson, D.D.S., to the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation for terms set to expire on Feb. 1, 2029.

AUSTIN – Gov. Greg Abbott has reappointed Ray Callas, M.D., and Gary F. Wesson, D.D.S., to the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation for terms set to expire on Feb. 1, 2029.

The Commission oversees the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Ray Callas, M.D., FASA of Beaumont is an anesthesiologist and president of Anesthesia Associates, the oldest medical practice in Texas.

He is president-elect of the Texas Medical Association, representing 67,000 physicians and medical students.

He is past president of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology, and previous chairman of Texas Medical Liability Trust.
