Fair Oaks Ranch Rotarians earn club of the year honors
The Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch was recognized as the 2021-22 “Club of the Year” at the Annual Rotary District 5840 Conference held Nov. 9 through Nov. 11 in Kerrville. In addition, Greg Maxton, who served as president during the July 2021 to June 2022 rotary year, was selected as “President of the Year.”

Dear Doctors: When our grandson first learned his colors, he sang them along with music. We thought he was copying that song for learning the ABCs. But when he got older, he started saying that he 'hears' the colors. We have been told this is called synesthesia. How and why does it happen?

8 BISD students honored by local vets
A total of eight Boerne ISD Students and Staff have been selected to receive awards from Boerne’s VFW Post 688. Three students won awards in the Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest, while three earned accolades in the Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest, and two Teachers earned Citizenship Teacher Awards.

The gift of reading
I’ve been reading books with a theme, once again. For the last several months I devoured any books I could get my hands on about libraries or bookshops. Then I discovered a sub-genre, if you will, among these. I was drawn to books that explored the idea of “the gift of reading.” I found this in both fiction and non-fiction titles.
