Expressing thanks for year full of arts

CELEBRATING THE ARTS

As the year ends and we gather with loved ones, our hearts at Hill Country Council for the Arts, are filled with immense gratitude for you — our incredible community of supporters, volunteers and friends.

This holiday season we are especially thankful for your dedication to the arts in all its manifestations — visual arts, music, live theater, film, literature, historic preservation.

Because of your continued generosity, we were able to expand programming to include young mothers with children’s art projects, sewing projects, kitchen crafting, women with power tools, and most recently, Cinema Nights, offering family nights to view classics and independent films by local filmmakers.

The new year welcomes the addition of two threeday workshops: in late January, Patrick Saunders teaches oil painting; and in April, Richie Vios teaches watercolor painting.

Again this year, through our partnerships with Cibolo Creek Quilters Guild and their handmade Christmas stockings, coupled with personal items donated by Boerne Dodge Ram volunteers and Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries, we filled gift stockings for clients of both Hill Country Pregnancy Center and Kendall County Women’s Shelter.

Your support comes in many forms: Memberships, individual and corporate donations, volunteers, attendees to our class offerings and partnerships with community non-profits and city and county agencies. In all the ways you have supported the arts, it gives Hill Country Council for the Arts the opportunity to feed the collective soul of our community.

Combined with the programming of our partners at The AgriCultural (area heritage) Museum and Arts Center, providing several tractor pulls, classes in blacksmithing and Dutch oven cooking, Saturday bluegrass music, Fall Festival, pumpkin patch and December’s Down Home Christmas, your support has allowed for a full year of family friendly fun.

Wishing you and yours a holiday season filled with peace, love and laughter, and a healthy, happy New Year.

Paula Horner, President Hill Country Council for the Arts Year-end gifts can be made at www.hccarts.org, or mailed to HCCArts, P.O. Box 2024, Boerne TX 78006.
