THE BOOKWORM
Summer isn’t over yet; there’s still plenty of prehistoric fun to be had at the library, and you won’t want to miss these exciting events. Space is limited for some programs, so be sure to arrive early.
We’ll continue our weekly storytimes with Bubbletime Bookworms (ages 0–2) on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and Roaring Readers (ages 3–5) on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
Ancient Animals
Monday, July 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Meet and interact with incredible animals whose ancestors once roamed the Earth alongside the dinosaurs. Children and families will have the opportunity to pet and learn about fascinating tortoises from Happy Tails Mobile Petting Zoo. The tortoises will be on the library’s back lawn until 10:30 a.m., so don’t miss this unique experience.
Dino-Mite Game Night
Monday, July 13 at 5 p.m.
Get ready for a roaring good time. Families and community members of all ages are invited to enjoy an evening filled with dinosaur-themed games, laughter and friendly competition. Whether you’re stomping your way through challenges or teaming up for prehistoric fun, there’s something for everyone. All ages are welcome.
Veloci-Crafters
Thursday, July 16 at 3:00 p.m.
Children and their grown-ups are invited to create a prehistoric- inspired craft together. This hands-on art program is perfect for dino lovers who enjoy creativity and imagination. Participants will make their own ancient amber soap complete with a “fossilized” bug trapped inside to take home and use.
Little Paleos: On the Prowl Friday, July 24 at 10 a.m.
Babies and toddlers can dig into hands-on sensory play with bins filled with dinosaur and prehistoric- themed treasures designed to spark curiosity and exploration. It’s the perfect program for little ones who love to scoop, dig, touch and discover.
Triassic Theatre
Monday, July 21 at 6 p.m.
Get ready for a night of museum mayhem at Triassic Theatre. Families are invited to enjoy a special showing of “Night at the Museum” and join Larry and his prehistoric friends on an actionpacked adventure where history comes to life after dark. All ages are welcome.
Bone Voyage: Summer Closing Party
Saturday, July 25, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Help us wrap up an unforgettable summer with a day full of dinosaur fun. Thanks to the Dinosaur George Traveling Exhibit, families can explore real dinosaur fossils, browse the gift shop and enjoy a special Dinosaur George presentation at the library. Be sure to catch the spectacular Birds of Prey show beginning at 10 a.m., an event you won’t want to miss.
Summer Reading Challenge There’s still time to join our Summer Reading Challenge. So far, the Youth Department has handed out more than 1,000 reading challenges, and we’d love for you to be part of the fun. Stop by the Youth Department to pick up your reading log and learn how to get started.
