The city is speeding up construction for the culvert project at Adler Road and No Name Creek and will restore a sidewalk to Curington Elementary School by the time classes start Aug. 11.
The revised construction timeline means two-way traffic on Adler will reopen by the first week of September, officials said.
During earlier work on the culvert, torrential rains and flooding July 15 destroyed a temporary sidewalk and roadway along the north side of Adler and washed away the ground underneath.
The road has been fully closed to vehicles and pedestrians since then.
