Terri Chidgey, Regent of George W. Kendall Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), presented the DAR JROTC Bronze Award to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Eliza Jones at the Boerne-Champion JROTC 2022-2023 Awards Ceremony on April 21, 2023.

Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Eliza Jones participates in the Junior ROTC program at Boerne-Champion High School and is currently serving as the Cadet Corps Deputy Commander for Mission Support. She is a junior at CHS, a star softball player, and one of the Readers at the annual DAR Reading of the Constitution in Boerne. Her plans are to attend Texas A&M and join the Corps of Cadets while pursuing a career in the military after college.

DAR awards Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) medals and certificates to student cadets of outstanding ability and achievement. The schools select the award recipients, who must have shown qualities of dependability, good character, adherence to military discipline, leadership ability, and understanding of the importance of ROTC training.
