Local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution

Honors businesses who fly flags honoring nation

As part of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution’s national initiative of recognizing those who fly the American flag every day, the Boerne chapter on June 23 presented certificates of appreciation to two Boerne institutions, the Family YMCA and the Kendall County Abstract Company. The presentations were made by the chapter’s immediate past president, Pat Blackman, and current president, Dale Tidwell.

“There are other Boerne institutions who qualify for the certificate, and we will be recognizing them over the next few months,” said Tidwell.

The Sons of the American Revolution is a fraternal organization open to all males who can trace their ancestry to those who fought for or had a hand in the Revolutionary War. The organization participates in local, state and national patriotic events, grants scholarships and sponsors other events dealing with the formation of the United States.
