‘Women on the Edge’ continues through Memorial Day
A special exhibit, “Women on the Edge,” featuring the artwork of Virginia Floyd, Paula Lay, Linda Manning, Nancy Yarbrough and Riki Yarbrough, will be on display through May 30. It is hosted by Gallery 195 and Downtown DIY.

Eclipses are a freak of nature
I’m writing this article on May 16, the night after the best lunar eclipse event I’ve seen since about 2000. Absolutely clear skies, zero wind and coolish temperatures, which was nice after a very hot afternoon.

Queen’s Throne Room hosts Memorial Weekend concert
Well known for its unique annual Christmas compositions, Tinsel returns to sparkle during a Memorial Day Weekend concert in the Queen’s Throne Room at the Cave Without a Name, singing all new a cappella arrangements of patriotic songs mixed with pop and jazz standards. Tinsel is a quartet of professional, classically trained voices.
