The Geneva School of Boerne Fine Arts Department recently finished its production of “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.” This musical is the story of a young woman living with her stepmother and stepsisters who treat her like a servant girl, but her life changes at the prince’s royal ball.

Voters who go to the polls for municipal and school board elections on May 7 will also be asked to decide on two proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.

As we enter 2022, we have a new planning process for the city of Boerne. While our budget cycle is from October through September, we start planning for the next cycle in January of each year.

Knockout (KO) Cheer is an All-Star Cheerleading gym in Boerne and recently won six First Place Championships and two overall High Point Grand Champion awards at the Cheer America Competition that took place in San Antonio on Jan. 23. KO has been training cheerleaders since 2012 in Boerne and has eight competitive teams and classes for ages 3-19.

All the area basketball teams were in action Tuesday night.

Both the Boerne Champion soccer teams played Dripping Springs Tuesday night in district contests, with the girls at home and the boys on the road.

Boerne ISD trustees, administrators, the 80 or so members of the district’s Long-Range Steering Committee and others involved in the education of BISD students undoubtedly have circled Saturday, May 7, on their calendars.

Patrick Heath Public Library Youth Department Librarian Constance Keremes, second photo, dressed the part as she put together a special January storytime at the Cibolo Nature Center last Saturday, January 22. Dressed as a snowman, Keremes read a book appropriate for the season and occasion to those in attendance and led them through some games and activities.

A 37-year-old Comfort resident, Joseph Allen Nezat Jr., was sentenced to 29 years in state prison Tuesday afternoon for distributing what the judge called the nation’s true pandemic: methamphetamine.

The countywide transportation committee has begun outlining the next six months of work as it nears its projected June completion date.
