County hopes to get new brush grinder soon
The Kendall County Commissioners essentially denied County Engineer Rick Tobolka’s requested to rent brush grinding equipment despite the growing pile at the brush site near the fairgrounds, leaving the facility unable to accept commercial brush while residential brush becomes a growing burden.

Serving the Lord – and others
Boerne’s City Hill Church played host to a “Serve Day” on Saturday morning as members pumped $20 of free gasoline on a first-come, first-served basis at the Exxon Service Station on Esser Road at the intersection of Highway 46 to anyone who showed up. The church set aside a portion of its missions budget to use for the giveaway and pumped the free gas in service to Jesus Christ and the community until the funds were gone.

Cow Creek beginning Stage 4 drought thought process
Although Boerne, Kendall County and much of the Hill Country experienced some decent rainfall last week, resulting in just over an inch-and-a-half in town, more precipitation will be needed to turn the tides before the local groundwater district considers moving into Stage 4 drought restrictions.

Meet and greet
Adam Cashion is all smiles as he dons a firefighter hat and police badge last Thursday afternoon while rubbing shoulders with local first responders during the Coke Float with a Cop event at Blacksmith Grill. A few dozen people attended the event and got to meet Boerne Police and Fire personnel.
