Comfort High opened its 2022 softball season Monday night against Junction and run-ruled the Eagles in six innings, 11-1.

The Champion boys hosted Central Catholic in a non-district basketball contest Tuesday at Charger Gym to close out the regular season on Senior Night.

Boerne High wrapped up the District 28-4A district title last week but the Greyhounds still had unfinished business on Tuesday when the boys basketball team visited Davenport to close out the regular season.

The Bobcats basketball team hosted Lago Vista Tuesday night to close out the regular season and Comfort held on for a 43-42 win over the Vikings.

Members of the Boerne Champion and Boerne High swim/dive teams were at last week’s Region V-5A swim and dive meet in College Station and several of the Chargers earned spots at this coming weekend’s state swim and dive meet.

Boerne High was shorthanded on Friday when the boys basketball squad hosted Bandera but that didn’t affect the Greyhounds team that went on to post a 30-point win over the Bulldogs, 54-24, as one Boerne player reached a personal milestone.

The Boerne Champion girls soccer team visited Kerrville Tivy for a district match on Friday and defeated the Lady Antlers for its fourth win in a row.

Softball season will kick off this week for several area teams.

During last year’s soccer season, the Boerne High boys and girls teams were both hoping to make it to the 4A state tournament.

Boerne Champion’s Davis Pike recently signed a national letter of intent to play football at Colorado School of Mines. Joining Davis (seated) at the signing was Keri Pike and Victoria Pike.

Boerne Champion’s Ethan Thornton signed a national letter of intent to play football at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. 

Due to make-up district games, the Geneva School of Boerne boys basketball schedule has looked more like a college schedule with three games per week over the past two weeks.
